Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 in Vinci, Italy. Vinci is a small town just outside of Florence.
He is famous for painting the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and many other things. He studied anatomy,
botany, geology, and optics. He invented hundreds of machines and other things for the Duke of Milan's army such
as tanks, machine guns, parachutes, helicopters, and movable bridges. His apprenticeship was with Andrea del
Verrocchio. Da Vinci was called a universal genius for his extremely amazing work in the arts. Leonardo died in 1518.
